Oversized Shipment Supervision – C. Steinweg, Waalhaven Rotterdam
Smooth handling of a 24-ton unit
FreightNed once again supervised an oversized shipment at the C. Steinweg terminal in the Waalhaven area of Rotterdam. The cargo, weighing 24 tons and measuring 327 x 256 x 349 cm (L x W x H), arrived on a mafi via shortsea from Norway and was destined for onward road transport to northern Spain.
Upon arrival in Rotterdam, the unit was carefully transferred from the mafi using a reachstacker and loaded onto a lowbed trailer via the quay. An interesting aspect of this shipment was that the truck trailer was partially shipped as RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) to the final destination.
Due to the size and weight of the cargo, the handling required precise coordination between all parties involved. Despite the complexity, the operation was completed smoothly and within the planned timeframe.
